What I Learned In China
Hey everyone!
Just got back from my trip out east and I must say it was pretty great. I traveled to Shanghai and Xi’an and wanted to go to Beijing as well, but there was just no time! Oh well, hopefully I’ll be back there again.
And since there just isn’t enough space here (nor do I have the energy!) to write down everything that happened, I figured I would give you a mini-sparknotes version of my trip. Naturally, you are more than welcome to ask for more info; however, I’ll at least give a list of the things I learned in China.
To be honest, I learned a lot. I learned about the country, about traveling, about the culture, and about myself as well. It was a great learning experience. And so, without further ado, here is what I learned from my trip to China:

Day 11: Farewell
With Thanksgiving approaching so quickly, people are beginning to travel. Especially this weekend I noticed many people starting to pack up and go home or to wherever they plan to spend their Thanksgiving holidays. I decided to use this opportunity to be impractically nice to people.
I had mentioned in an earlier post that I have a desk job where I screen a large number of residents and guests. Having such a job opens up the opportunity to overhear a good portion of conversations between people. I abused the position a bit last night when I found out that one of the building’s residents would be leaving for home the next morning and made a mental note of it. Naturally, my job calls for a fair amount of confidentiality, so recording information such as names or room numbers is certainly goes against the expectations of my position. However, like a good criminal, I decided to forgo these terms, feeling my agenda is more important than employment expectations. Read More…
