Laundry List Explanations

The following is a better description of what I would be doing if I decide to undertake a goal on my laundry list.  If there is a goal you like here, be sure to vote on it!

Go On A Corn-Free Diet

In today’s environmentally and health conscious world, most people are aware of the increased use of corn in food products.  Corn is inexpensive for farmers to grow and can be used to make a host of different products.  One of these products is corn syrup (or high fructose corn syrup), which is in just about every processed food made in the States today.  Because of this, people (especially American people) are over-eating corn, which can cause a number of different health problems.  Going on a corn-free diet would force me to eliminate both common corn products (corn on the cob, pop-corn, corn chips, etc.) and foods containing corn products (soda, cookies, ice cream, canned fruits and vegetables, cereals, yogurt, etc.).  Vote now!

Take a Vow of Silence

In taking a vow of silence, I would choose some reason I care about and vow not to speak for a certain amount of time in response to this issue.  Though I am not a boisterous person, going without talking at all would be extremely difficult.  At least I would still be able to write on the blog!  Vote now!

Write a Manuscript

As a blog writer, I tend to write about my life, current events, and other issues important to me.  However, all of this is non-fiction.  And though I enjoy non-fiction, my passion for writing began by writing fictional stories (usually ones that addressed the same issues I discuss in my non-fiction).  If I were to write a manuscript, I would choose a fiction-based writing project and write the whole thing out within a given time frame.  Naturally, you would all have access to whatever comes of this!  Vote now!

Watch an Entire TV Series, Non-Stop

As I mentioned about writing a manuscript, I do not often do the type of writing I am most passionate about.  One of these writing styles is screenwriting (writing for film and television).  Part of my love for screenwriting comes from my love for movies and TV shows, which are both things I am not able to go out and see regularly.  And since there are so many TV series I want to catch up on, why not watch one as a marathon?  To do this I would pick a show, pick a time and watch all of the episodes of all of the seasons.  I say non-stop because I would force myself to watch a particular amount each day or week (for example, 3 episodes per day), not because I would place myself in a vegetative state in front of the TV.  Vote now!

Live Out of a Suitcase

A lot of people say they want to travel the world.  I’m one of those people.  However, I love traveling just for the sake of traveling rather than going to see any particular place or landmark.  Living out of a suitcase would mean packing everything I think I’ll need on the road and heading out for a certain amount of time (I’d say at least 2 weeks).  Unfortunately, since I won’t always have access to an internet connection, I might not be able to update my blog regularly while on the road.  Vote now!

Write a Song

I am a huge lover of music.  Usually this just translates to me singing in acappella groups or on my own, or attempting to play piano, drums, or harmonica.  I used to write lyrics when I was younger, but I was never all that fond with what I would come up with.  And I was never all that great with music theory.  However, if I choose to write a song, not only will I write the lyrics and music, I will also record it (to the best of my ability) and make it available on the blog!  Vote now!

Cure/Treat an Illness

I have done a lot of research about illness, anatomy, medication, and alternative remedies; although, I have never put these skills to any concrete use (besides writing articles).  I’ve always wanted to put my knowledge to some good use and help a friend overcome an illness.  My goal would be to do this without the use of drugs or medication.  Naturally, the health and well-being of a friend is something I would take care to protect, and I would never put a friend at risk if I was not sure I could help out.  Vote now!

Add Fun Words to Vocabulary

I am a huge fan of fun/silly sounding words like curmudgeon, gleek, hornswoggle, and absquatulate.  I am an even bigger fan of people who are able to use these words in normal conversation.  I often try, but when I do it is forced.  If I take on this challenge, I will attempt to incorporate at least one new word to my vocabulary each week by using it as much as I can get away with.  This will condition my brain in such a way that using the words will seem more natural.  Vote now!

Conduct a Scientific Experiment

I’m fascinated with research and experimentation.  I would absolutely love to run my own study and try to determine some new and exciting information.  And I don’t mean some crack experiment either.  If I go through with it, I’m going all out! I’m talking about control groups, hypothesis, multiple variable tests, the whole nine yards!  My results need to be verifiable or it’s just not worth it.   Vote now!

Send Me Your Ideas!

If any of the above strikes you as something you might like to see me attempt, please vote for it on the laundry list page.  Remember that you can vote once per day so feel free to come back and vote again.  The more votes an item has, the greater chance it will be the next goal I take on.

Also, I don’t want to only set goals I choose for myself.  I’d also like to take on the goals you have as well.  If you have a goal that you would really love to see me achieve or attempt, send it to me by filling out the form bellow.  Unless it is far beyond the constraints of reality, I will post it up on the laundry list and people can vote on it.

Remember that you are the reason this is all worthwhile to me.  If you have an idea, I’m all ears!
