Brand Spanking New Site
Perhaps I should have called this post “Name Creation.” Nevertheless, Street Saint’s Blog is no longer called Street Saint’s Blog. Instead, the title is “Be The Change.”
The title Be The Change comes from Mahatma Gandhi’s famous quote, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” I figure, since this blog is about change and working to achieve both long-term and short-term goals, why not have a title that reflects the sentiment?
In light of this change, I am also going to be focusing the blog more so on my goals. In short, I will no longer be publishing general content on self-help, personal development, or mental health.
Don’t worry! I’m not abandoning this pursuit altogether. I’ll still write more tangential content; however, with a different focus comes, yes, you guessed it! a NEW BLOG! Read More…

Pre-New Years Reflection
With 2010 only days away, I’ve started to think about what my new years resolution is going to be. I thought it was a bit strange to chose a goal for the new year when my blog is entirely about the goals I plan to achieve. Nevertheless, I figured I’d give it some thought. I’ve already decided on some new goals that I hope to tackle sometime in the near future.
Although, thinking about the new year (and new decade) made me think about not only my future, but my past as well. I figured, new years shouldn’t just be about how great the coming year will be, but how great the previous year was. This made me think even further about my life as a whole. Emotional Paralysis
One of the issues I struggle with is something I call socially onset emotional paralysis. At first I thought I was the only one with this problem, but I’ve found in talking to others, that this is more common than I originally thought. Emotional Paralysis occurs most often in introverted people and many people also link it to depression, but I believe anyone can have this “condition.”
There are many different ideas about emotional paralysis and how to define it; however, it is most commonly associated with the inability to form or express one’s emotions. It is associated with depression because depressed people often have trouble showing or feeling emotion. How Men and Women Handle Their Problems
Please take the provocative title of this post lightly. I don’t mean to imply that all women think the same way, nor do I believe I know how all women think. What the title instead implies is that, though all people are different and gender differences are not as clearly defined as many people think, there are certain distinctions that are uniquely common to one sex over the other.
One of these is the way in which men and women tend to resolve their problems and relieve stress. Men and women often get into arguments, especially with their relationship partners, because of a common miscommunication: the woman will be explaining a problem she has and the man will interrupt her with a solution.
