Honorable Mention vol. II – Fitness
Hello and welcome to the second ever Street Saint Honorable Mention. Once again, I have received content from bloggers all over the place and chosen all of the best and most relevant articles and placed them all here.
As it was “Fitness February” here at Be The Change, the theme of this volume is fitness, health, and wellness. The following are the articles I chose. Please enjoy!
Personal Stories
Savvy Brown presents Yoga for Chickens posted at Savvy Brown. It is a humorous look at how she conquered her fear of doing doing yoga in public. Spoiler: it doesn’t actually have to do with chickens…
A Year of Daily Exercise (ayearofdailyexercise.blogspot.com) is a blog which tracks the author’s daily progress toward getting into shape. I took on the 100 Push Ups challenge for a month, so I commend the year-long effort. When I last checked, the blog had left off at day 43. You can start here at: A Year of Daily Exercise: Day 1.
Fitness Over 50 (fitnessover50.org) presents Spinning-My First Time. Author Peter tells about his first workout at a spinning class. I have also tried spinning, it wasn’t for me, but everyone is different. Spinning is a very popular way to get into shape and it can be quite fun!
Laurel presents Quick Veggie Pizza posted at Laurel On Health Food. Laurel talks about her craving and subsequent decision to make herself some pizza. She provides the recipe so that you can try it out yourself. All I can say is, it looks delicious!

The Digerati Life (thedigeratilife.com/blog) presents 12 Cheap Ways To Keep Fit And Stay Healthy. Though I am not a fan of the “must-be-thin” mindset, it is often quite fulfilling to reach a weight-loss goal. If you are looking to shave off some pounds, here are some good tips.
Surbhi Bhatia presents Don’t wait for your ship to come in – swim out to it! posted at The Viewspaper. Author Sumedha Sobti describes in great detail the benefits of swimming. I myself did not realize the activity had so many health and fitness benefits.

Ben Klempner presents Lose Weight and Stress Less with Tai Chi posted at Effective Family Communication. If I had to choose the most overlooked sources of illness today, stress would definitely be at the top of the list. Ben discusses how the stress of our day-to-day lives can be alleviated with Tai Chi.
