Weekend Plans
Lots to say all at once! Here goes!
Boredom Updates
First off, I realize that I did not report on a fun thing that I did in Boston last week. There’s a really simple reason for that:
…because we didn’t end up doing anything.Â
And though I don’t like to admit failure, I really think it’s important that I do in order to stay accountable. After all, I made a promise to be perfectly honest from now on.
In any case, I don’t really see this as a failure anyway. I think “failure” in general is too strong a word. Just seeing it written here on this blog bothers me, and I think I’ll make it a point never to mention it ever again.
Falling short of one’s goal is a natural part of the achievement process. If you succeed perfectly every time, you aren’t really learning much. The whole point is just to try.
That being said, I am not upset that Moe and I couldn’t get together last week. We were both super-busy and it just wouldn’t have worked out. That’s okay. You move on.
This Week
And speaking of moving on! that brings me to my second point. This week, as a way of making up for the lack of fun-times last weekend (not that I didn’t have any fun…), I have made a plan to do something fun every day of this weekend, including today! I am calling it my Awesome Performance Weekend!
Here’s the Agenda:
Friday: Attend an open mic performance
Saturday: See a performance of “The Vagina Monologues”
Sunday: See a performance of “The Little Dog Laughed”
What makes my performance weekend especially awesome is the fact that each of the shows I am attending is hosted or directed by people I know.
“The Little Dog Laughed” is a play that is being put up by my college, so I know a few of the people who are on the production team and in the show. So that’s exciting.
The performance of “The Vagina Monologues” that I am seeing was actually directed by a good friend of mine, so I’m very excited to see it as well.
And the open mic performance tonight has been organized by yours truly! Actually, my whole acappella group will be running the show. We’ll be performing a few songs, but we’re also opening up the stage to anyone who wants to sign up. We’re hoping to see some really great talent!
The best part about all three of this weekend’s shows is that they’re all free (save for the V. Monologues, but the ticket was cheap), and alcohol will not be served at any of the venues.
The only issue is that Moe will not be joining me this weekend. As I mentioned before, we have both been super busy, so it’s understandable.
Push Up Dates
…get it? Push-updates?
In terms of my push-up progress, things are looking pretty good. Today I finished my final push-up workout and I am (supposedly) ready to do the 100!
I’m pretty nervous about it, since I don’t know that I am fully capable just yet. However, I’m staying confident.
I’ve decided to take the weekend off to rest up in preparation and I will do my final test Monday morning (March 1st).
I’m going to think of some kind of way I can reward myself if I can actually manage it. In fact, I think I deserve a reward just for sticking with the program the whole month! I’m sure I’ll think of something.
That is All
And that’s about it. This weekend is going to be relaxing and lots of fun (though I do have a lot of other things to worry about), and once it’s over I’ll put my body to the test!
Either way, I’m proud of everything I’ve gotten accomplished this month and I have no regrets.
Here’s to a great rest of the year!!
