Boredom (Week 3): Valentine’s Day
Week three was a little bit different because it was Valentine’s Day. Not only was alcohol involved, but we also went over our “budget.” Although, it was a special night, so we let it slide.
It was a great night, though. Since I celebrate Singles Awareness Day rather than Valentine’s Day, Moe and I and five other single friends of ours decided to treat ourselves to a fancy dinner at Legal Sea Foods. The seven of us dressed in our best attire and stormed the restaurant, looking to spend more than we could normally afford on delicious food.
And boy was the food delicious!
It must have been quite entertaining for the other patrons of the restaurant having seven college students enter the restaurant looking as if they belonged there, yet occasionally outing ourselves with our conversation and silliness. We were perhaps a bit too loud, and perhaps a bit too immature, but we enjoyed ourselves. And did I mention how delicious the food was?
It’s nice to spend outside your price range once in a while. I’m certainly not one to drop $20 plus on an entree normally, but living like a rich person is pretty fun. I do enjoy my humble status, though. I have no need or desire for lavish things.
Although, the food was really very good…
Overall, I had a happy, stress-free Valentine’s Day, which is unusual for me. I’m glad I seem to have emerged from my slump of miserable Valentine fiascoes. Unfortunately, I only have 85 days left to fulfill my goal of finding myself a girlfriend. Time is starting to run short. I’m going to have to come up with a new strategy pretty soon or I’ll have a failure on my hands.
Yeesh…
