Push Ups: Week 1, Day 1

So I wanted to post this right after my workout; although, I don’t know that I’ll be able to do that in the future.  After finishing the first day of the workout, I can barely lift my arms over my head, save type this update.

Right now I actually feel pretty good.  My biceps are burning hot, but I can feel the muscles building.  It’s a good feeling, but a feeling that you can’t get unless you’ve just completed an intense workout.  And in all honesty, “intense” barely scratches the surface of what that workout was.

To give you a better sense: in the final set, when I was supposed to perform as many push-ups as I could, the instructions were to perform at least 20.  I collapsed after 12 and forced myself to squeeze out another 4 before begging for mercy.

Why did I think this was going to be easy?

In any case, since I might not be in the proper state to write a whole post on my progress in the future, I can still give you all updates without further straining myself.  I found that on hundredpushups.com you can record your fitness progress online.  All you have to do is register and you can have your own push ups logger.  I went ahead and made one for myself so you all can see where I am at any point.

Right now, I’m going to drink about a gallon of water.  I need to think ahead next time set out some water in a dog bowl before my workout, that way I don’t have to use my arms to lift a water bottle…
