Sour news. Due to adverse weather conditions, the Simply Circus Showcase was postponed until January 10th. The news is calling it the big blizzard of ’09. And based on what I’ve heard from friends in other states, the snow was more than they have seen in years. Here in Boston, it was pretty bad, but we’re used to this kind of snow. Unfortunately, it was still too much to have people travel out to see the show.

The really upsetting part is that the show was rescheduled for January 10th. That’s all well and good, except for the fact that I can’t actually be there for that date. I’ll be heading out to Florida to be with my family for Christmas and I won’t be back until the 17th.

I’m sad, but I am still looking forward to the training I’ll be doing once I get back.

Overall, I was pleased with Acappellics Anonymous’ performance Friday. There were some slip-ups and flubs, but that’s normal for any live stage show. We were able to pull it together, and I’m extremely pleased.

In fact, I’ve felt that these moments are the very reason I chosen to put in so much work in the first place. I couldn’t be happier with life right now. Well, maybe I could, but that’s not the point…

Friday night was the first rehearsal for my Simply Circus showcase performance. I was assuming that, when I arrived I would immediately be learning what I would be doing for the show. However, I had forgotten that I would not be the only one there. There was a number of people whom I have not yet met as well as a bunch that I did recognize. And since my act had not been settled yet and the people I would be performing with were not present, I ended up helping out with the other acts. Read More…

I’m excited about all of the new projects I am working on. There are a lot of performances coming up, which is exciting. Unfortunately, it means there is also a lot of work preparation-wise.

First off, I am rehearsing for a showcase for this coming Saturday. It is with my performing arts troupe Gumbo Yaya. We primarily perform for school-age children; however, we are hosting a special performance this weekend and opening it up to our college community. The two shows we are working on are called “Bowling for Friends” and “Rabbit and Harpy,” both original plays performed only by our troupe. Read More…
